Highlights from our trip to Zimbabwe 2014

We drove through the Hopley township to find the grade school.  That is an outhouse in front of the home.

Each little house had a small outhouse in front of it made of plastic or tin or wood.

The kids go inside the small classrooms in shifts to accommodate the number of students.

They had about 5 or 6 small classrooms.  Most of the kids were in uniforms.

I started taking pictures and the kids came running.  They love to see themselves in the photos.

I was quickly surrounded by happy little faces.  They used to have 800 students at this grade school.  Many children didn't come at all.

We delivered bags of the porridge ATMIT. Once they started getting the porridge, the kids all came.  There are 1,173 now who come.  It has made such a difference in their health and their ability to learn. .

The kids helped carry it into the sheltered room.

Parents of the students come help serve it each day.

They each bring a little container and get their portions.  We were there around 10 a.m.

The children sit on the floor of the classrooms and come in shifts to be taught.

Photos from the top--our trip to Cape Town

This is the tip of Africa jutting into the Atlantic Ocean--View from the lighthouse on top.

We rode the gondola to the top of Table mountain--2 miles above the sea level.

It truly is one of the beautiful wonders of the world.

We were so blessed to be able to go up on the very last day of our visit.  It's often too cloudy and windy.
