Temple Day for Orange Farm--Oct 12, 2013

Sister Matike, Dorothy (RS president, Ellen (Annah's mother) at the entrance to the Temple

A wonderful day with 9 members attending the temple endowment session.  Several were from Durban and had just been sealed and jumped into the picture as I was taking it.  They love to have their pictures taken.  Branch President Nyama and his wife (in red) are on the end. The sister beside Pres. was just baptized 3 weeks ago and wanted to just come and be on the temple grounds.  Our Elder's quorum president, Daniel Mokunda is in the middle in front of Bob.  Brother and Sister Manyane are at the right of Bob (counsellor to Pres. Nyama).

RED BUS TOUR OF JOHANNESBURG

The Curtis's, Lees, Heatons and Roses took a tour on the Red HOHO Bus

One stop was the Golf Reef Hotel with beautiful grounds

The Hotel houses a casino and food court.  It's very pretty.

The architecture downtown was a mix of many cultures.  This building reminded me of New Orleans.

In front of all the stores were blankets of goods that street vendors sold.
This is the very imposing Govt. building in downtown Joburg

During Apatheid the large Carlton Hotel was used by famous visiting dignitaries.  Now it is closed.

Many of the nicer buildings are unoccupied, but the city is trying to revitalize itself.
